Kandukuri Varalakshamma is a Carnatic Vocal faculty and presently she is working as Principal of Annamacharya Govt. Music and Dance College, Hyderabad. She has been continuing her journey in teaching since 1991. She worked as a Carnatic Vocal lecturer for 16 years and as an In-charge Principal for 4 years in Sharada Sangeeta Kalasala, Kurnool. She got promoted as a school Principal and worked for 4 years in Govt. Music and Dance school, Guntur. Later, She got promoted as a College Principal and worked in Sri Bhakta Ramadasu Music and Dance college, Secunderabad from 2011 to august 2024.
She trained 100’s of students in her service and many have completed their Certificate and Diploma courses. Many of her students got settled in this music field and are working as Music Teachers in various Colleges and Schools.

She has given many concerts in different states around India.
She has also given her performance in the prestigious program, NADANEERAJANAM in Tirumala.
She has given many concerts in Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham, Kanchi.
She has composed and sung the songs in “Saranu Mahanadeeswara” and “Pushakara Krishnamma Swagatam” (Sangeeta Rupakam) which were broadcasted on ALL INDIA RADIO.
She has given many concerts on the occasion of TTD Brahmotstavam, Annammayya jayanti and vardhanti celebrations.
She has given many radio talks on different subjects and participated in many National seminars.
AWARDS
She received the award ‘SANGEETA SEVAMANI’ which was honoured by Sri Jayendra Saraswati garu from Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham, Kanchi in the year 2011.
She was honoured with Gold medal in her MA academics by the Former Governor of AP and Former Vice President of India, Krishnakanth in the year 1990.
She secured the BEST TEACHER award in the year 2006 which was felicitated by LION’S CLUB, Kurnool.
She received “Ugadi Puraskaram” which was honoured by Guntur Collector in the year 2011.
She received “VISWASHANTI GOURAVA PURASKARAM” on the occasion of M.S Subbulakshmi’s 4th Vardanti celebrations which was organized by Viswashanti Arts Academy, Guntur.
